Master study after Ilya Yefimovich Repin

Oil on board, 36 x 45 cm. Painted alla prima over two days of work. It's also the first portrait I've sketched directly with a brush.

This was a challenging portrait to copy, but I've learned so much by studying Repin's brushstrokes and colours!
